Went wheeling yesterday, bent my tie-rod at 7PM 1/4 mile from the trail end. Spent close to 2 hours trying to fix it, but ty spare rod's TRE threads were f'ed and I couldnt use it.......and it was raining. There were 6 other rigs behind me, one of which had no front drive shaft. We simply didnt have time to fix my rig. It was dark, and raining, so I had to pull it off the side, and leave it. We didnt get off the trail till 11PM and many people didnt get home till 1:30AM Very scary.

I pulled the tie-rod off the '86 MJ and went out there this morning with my Cherokee, and put that on. Long story short, the MJ is back in my driveway, and home safe. Good thing it was only 30-40 miles away.

I NEVER want to do that again........................

It happens. When my XJ flipped, I had to leave it for a week! Good thing it wasn't public land...

Sorry for the large picture:

I left my XJ half way up a mountain in the middle of winter... 4 days of wondering if anybody had decided to turn it into a barbeque.

And I left the MJ over-night once. Luckily it was definatly not a likely place to look.

Yeah, I had to leave it on a powerline trail (legal though). So it gets lots of traffic.

I can't imagine leaving my rig for more then 12 hours...thats just scarry!!
