uncleben03
I had about a 2" wide bubble of rust start to creep out from the top of my plastic fender flare on my passenger front fender. Removed the flare, saw there was rust (only surface) around most of the holes that the flare retainers bolt through, and the flare retainers are pretty bad. I'm just going to replace the fender ($60-something shipping), paint it, and put on new flare retainers (8 bucks each from Crown). I'm having a hard time sourcing OEM looking pin stripes. In my case, my MJ Pioneer is Colorado red, and has silver and "dark silver" pin stripes. Anybody know where to find them in OEM colors? Or am I better off measuring their width and just ordering something that looks close off a decal site or something like that? Interestingly enough, the inside of the fender is completely rust free, as is everything else on the truck. I figure with as cheap as fenders are, I'm not going to bother to fix the old one and have it be a weak spot from grinding down through rust.
