Something Odd, Fuse Panel Clicking

Recommended Posts

This morning, I I drove the Eliminator to the gas station, went back to the house to drop off something before I headed off to work. I got back to the house with no problems. I get back into the truck, and I hear this off and on clicking coming from around the fuse panel, like a relay cycling. I didn't have the HVAC blower on, and the lights/turn signals worked as they should as did the high beams. I got on the interstate, still clicking. Just out of curiosity, I hit the horn (it never worked since I got the truck running), it clicked more. After hitting the horn a couple more times, the clicking stopped. I don't understand why it's clicking, but, the horn itself doesn't work. I thought the horn relay was under the hood. I'm guessing the horn itself is dead, but the relay works, and the switch on the steering wheel is having intermittent contact, and I'm just lucky that the horn doesn't work, LOL!! Anyone can give me an insight if I'm on the right track or not, thanks!!

the horn relay is attached to the left of the fuse panel, sounds like the culprit. I had a similar issue on my manual truck and the horn would randomly go off, just pull the relay for now if the horn doesn't work anyway.

Well, yesterday afternoon, the horn started working, and it wasn't clicking except when I hit the horn button. I guess that was the real reason the horn wasn't working, LOL!! Thanks!! Maybe, I'll pull the relay out and clean the contacts.
