pitbull4x4
My motor in my 89 Comanche. 4.0, auto, 2wd has a warped head and block. Can move pistons in cylinder with finger. I know a 99 and older 4.0 will work using my intake, exhaust, valve cover , flexplate, flywheel, distributor, and the newer thermostat housing. So if I use the same parts will a 2001 XJ 4.0 work also ? Reason I ask is because I found low mile good running one they will pull for &350. A member on here said it should. He sounds very smart at what will and won't work. Or would it be better to stay with a 99 or older motor
jimoshel
They will work just fine. However, if you have a complete engine. why not just swap engines.
pitbull4x4
I am going to swap engines. Just asking if it will work with the parts mentioned . Also I'm putting an auto and t-case out of 91 XJ in to do my 4wd swap
