Mattman6 Posted May 4, 2015 Share Posted May 4, 2015 Hello all. I wanted to share my new Comanche that I bought just the other day. This is my first Jeep, but not my first 4X4. I have had Toyotas in the past and I have to say I am really feeling this thing so far. I drove across state lines the other day to get this thing and I am very excited about putting a little love into it. It is a 1989 with the 4.0 V6 5spd 4WD 130K miles. Looks to be a pioneer edition due to the stickers that were painted over. Interior is in great shape, 4wd works great, and it it is very strong. Mattman6 Posted May 4, 2015 Author Share Posted May 4, 2015 Well today I had to take care of the awful side view mirrors. Went to a local pull a part and grabbed two of them from a Cherokee. I plan to put a little cash into it before taking it out wheeling. Hopefully put a mild lift and a little bit bigger tires. Do you hang around with any local MJers? I have been reading this forum a lot and have settled on setting this thing up with a 4" lift and most likely 32s. Hope to be ordering the lift in the coming weeks. Mattman6 Posted May 12, 2015 Author Share Posted May 12, 2015 Today I was able to drop the fuel tank and check out exactly what is going on in there. The truck will run pretty crappy sometimes, I cut it off and it is back to running fine. Then a few miles down the road it's running like balls again. I have a feeling the Fuel tank has something to do with it. Pics show exactly what I am working with. So to fix, I just went ahead and ordered a new tank, fuel pump, and fuel filter. Mattman6 Posted May 16, 2015 Author Share Posted May 16, 2015 Well today i got the new gas tank, fuel pump, and filter in. I decided to tackle getting the new one in and hopefully with no issues. I didn't run into anything major, just working on sand and not having the truck high enough made for some awkward positions. But I got the tank in and currently it is running without any leaks. I plan to take it around the block tomorrow to make sure its all good to go.
