Thiefcatcher Posted February 18, 2015 Share Posted February 18, 2015 I couldn't stomach the prices on the Comanche taillights and the fact that they are used....so I attempted the taboo Dakota light swap...I'm doing mine like I describe below. I'll post pictures as soon as I can. The trick with this is that the taillights need to be flipped upside down....passenger on the driver side and driver side on the passenger...the contour is much closer to the Comanche body contourthis way...I trimmed the plastic slightly on the backside to facilitate sliding the fixture into the slimmer Comanche tail light slot.(of course adding a extra port to the dak light) There will be only a slight gap by the tailgate 1/2" or less...I'm using angled aluminum to mount mine....I'll update this thread with how I finish mine out and pics The best part is that I'm not permanently modifying the bed to do this. Really like the creativity of simply turning the Dakota lights upside down to get a better fit! What year Dakota? Where did you get them? What price?
