Butchershop
New discos on an XJ. After I remove the cotter pin, I cannot slide the bottom off the bracket. It's extremely tight. Tried a rubber mallet, but didn't work. I understand it may just take more force, but don't want to bend anything. Any hints?
ParadiseMJ
Lube & leverage...as opposed to hammers. Try to take some pressure off the connection. When you get it off, put some grease on the disco stud
Incommando
You sometimes have to pick up on or push down on the body to get it lined up well. It can change based on the forces on the suspension at the time you are trying to connect or disconnet it. Trying to be on as flat a surface as possible when doing it helps. If you find yourself always moving the suspension one way especially on the same side you may need to fine tune the length of the disconnect.
