shagtn Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 When I press the pedal it does not disengage the gear. There is no pressue at all when pressing the pedal down. Could this be a linkage problem or is it going to be the cylinder. I guess I should mention that the resevoir for the clutch is full and I do not see anything leaking. Thanks in advance -Will
Cabz Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 You probably have a bad master cylinder. The replacements for those run around $100.00+ ( don't get the cheap ones ) I just put a Bendix brand MC on mine . If your not leaking any fluid I would suspect that first. Have you tryed bleeding the system? was it ever low? Graspin at the straws I am
shagtn Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 It was low when I picked it up. Added some fluid and brought it home. (about an hour drive on the interstate.) Drove it a couple times after that and then I came to a stop light and when I pushed in the pedal to get into first, I lost the pressure. A few minutes, and several curse words, later I managed to get into first and creep back to the house in first gear. Thank God I was less than a mile from the house.
87manche Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 sounds just like what mine did. It was the MC. x2 on the cheap ones, if you don't want to do it again in 10K miles get a decent one. Most of the cheap ones are simply rebuilt ones, which is something you could do yourself with a hone and a rebuild kit that cost $20.
shagtn Posted February 8, 2006 Author Posted February 8, 2006 I swapped the MC out on the clutch and it is working great! Thanks for the help!! -Will
