mikejenn2
my problem is when I turn on the head lights only the passenger side works (low beam) I will then switch to high beam and only driver side works. I was wondering can I use a jump wire between the 2 of them to make both work or is there any better solution? I found out that when I switch from low to high the polarity switches at the plug? is this correct? sorry but I am new to the forum I also have a 1987 wrangler that I have been building
HOrnbrod
Start troubleshooting by disconnecting the sockets from the headlamps. Using a test light or multimeter and with the headlamps switched to low beam, check for 12V on the low beam socket terminals. Repeat for the high beams. Your wire colors may or may not match the diagram; use the pin orientation for your guide. Let us know what you find.
mikejenn2
well I have done what you said I have power to driver side with low beam and none with high. on passenger side I have no power with low beam and I do with high. I am taking this to the fact that it sat for 8 years since 06, and that mice could have gotten up in there. I ran 3 jumper wires from one headlight to the other and now both work I think I need that wire harness for the front clip. I do thank you for the diagram this has helped confirm what I found. HOrnbrod
Great, sounds like you have it "wired". Hope the little bastids didn't do too much damage. Next you should probably utilize Cruiser's ground and connector refreshing tips here: http://comancheclub.com/topic/36382-cruisers-renix-tips/
mikejenn2
that is a great list. I will defiantly look into the ground system as many other thing on this list. thank you very much it seems everything is good except the headlight issue. the truck was stored in a garage. so far all I did was replace the master cylinder for the clutch and serpentine belt. I also did oil and gas change. she is running great and on the road. it is a 1992 long box pioneer with the dana 44 rear I paid 300$ and very happy. there is a sticker in rear window that says big ton 2205 I think this means it is just a heavy rear end for hulling? HOrnbrod
It means a 2205 lb. payload and it comes with the D44 and 5-leaf metric ton rear leaf springs option package. You have a very rare model especially since it's a 92.
