adobson06
I have a 86 comanche 4wd first jeep i've ever owned, and the person who owned this beast before me had welded the track bar in a couple places as a fix, but i am ready to do a full overhaul of the truck and the front end is my starting point. The issue I'm running into is that the track bar on my comanche has double eyelids... Every single track bar i look up has an eyelid and and ball joint... I see if you do a lift kit some companies offer a double eyelid set up, but the truck doesnt have a lift in it. Was curious if anyone else had this type of issue thanks for any help in advance..... desertmike
Just be aware that in 91? they changed the size of the ball joint and frame bracket. Just in case you want to go back to stock.
outlaw star
It's called a double shear Trac bar, yes you can run one fine on a stock vehicle. Check out Ironrockoffroad.com for their double sheer bars and brackets.
adobson06
alright i will have to check it out thank you for the help just thought it was weird that there was a double eyelid bar on this truck without a lift in the truck... I guess it made sense why it has massive welds at one end must have had the same issue and just cobbed it...
adobson06
update to my track bar issue the previous owner had taken the original bracket off of the truck and welded a cob job bracket to it so it could be a double shear... Luckly i had a track bar and bracket off of a 93 laying around so that gets changed asap
