Jigglebot
Heater and fan works great in the floor and dash vents, but when I switch to defrost I get nothing. My truck has no AC from the factory. I have searched for possible solutions but unable to locate anything. Any suggestions on where to start? Factory radio was replaced and I have not looked behind it yet (I read somewhere there is a little piece that slips out perhaps)
BryceOJ
I'm having similar issues. The floor and vents blow air, but when switching to defrost, I hear the fan definitely blowing, but only miniscule about of air is blowing from the defrost vents. Like its being blocked. Jigglebot
On mine I can't even hear a fan blowing when I switch to defrost. The system goes completely quiet.

danbyrambler
Nice interior - Clean & not torn up always makes things easier on mods/upgrades/restores Your alternator - - - A trip to AutoVancePepRileys should be easy enough to take advantage of their free alternator/battery testing Fast & dirty test with a voltmeter across battery terms - - 14.25 or so wi engine running These Jeeps are ground happy - - - I'm sure you know about the firewall main ground & potential probs over time - - - JIC here's a pic of FW location - - Another site, NAXJA I think, is where the recomend for the other 2 grounds came from - - Wasn't a fix or anything, just a precaution - - - There is no such thing as "too much ground" :smart:
Jigglebot
Thanks CA..I had the grounds on my list but hadn't checked them yet..I went out and found the battery ground (as seen in pic) did not exist so I added that one. The main ground from block to firewall was secure and clean at the firewall but just placed over one of the bigger block bolts and not secured at all. I need to get the right sized bolt for that and secure. Any suggestion on what that would be awesome. Also, the last ground seen in the pics does not exist either...I need to get some ends/heat shrink/wire to make that one and add it.
danbyrambler
Pics 2&3 show what I did based onna thread/post from NAXJA, PIRATE, maybe here on CC, somewhere - Not an original Idea, Just seemed like a good one to me Firewall ground stuff https://www.google.com/webhp?rct=j#q=site:comancheclub.com+firewall+ground+strap https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=site:naxja.org+firewall+ground+strap
Jigglebot
I found out that it was just my starter solenoid that was causing my issues.... a connection problem in the hot wire from the battery. Awesome. For now it is starting up great. I will be cleaning all contacts asap. I am going to just have someone put my exhaust manifold in for me. Total parts and labor around $400 and to me it is worth it. I am not quite at the level that I feel confident doing this, although from what I have seen it is a straightforward job.... I will be going to salvage this week to look for some exhaust pipes/mufflers/etc.. perhaps I can find some good condition aftermarket parts for it. Otherwise, for now, I should be ready to go. Jigglebot
you can get new tail pipe from autozone for <$75 is that the whole tail pipe from manifold to tip? I keep finding it in two pieces online.... one from manifold to catalytic and then the muffler to tip piece for about $90 combined..

Jigglebot
Got my exhaust manifold kit in and the front section of tail pipe. Saving up to get it all installed. $300 labor.. Also, I was wondering what the tow rating is for one of those rear bumper with the receiver built in?

Also, I was wondering what the tow rating is for one of those rear bumper with the receiver built in? its something like 1000lbs. The stock rear bumper can't take much punishment. Probably best to not tow anything with it, it'll just bend. I don't think I would pay $300 to get that installed but its your money!
