Servicing The Rear Diff And Repackin Front Wheel Barrings

Recommended Posts

alright guys, i'm not tryin to drag this thread out but i need yalls help again, i repacked my barrings today and the seals fit like a glove  but i'm still having a wobble when i hit 55mph and when i hit the breaks it's worse so i'm assuming it's my rotors and since i'd replace the rotors i'm gonna replace the barrings too, but when i repacked my barrings i have 2 barrings in one hub; one was smaller (the one right under the dust cap) and the other way bigger (under the seal on the back of the rotor. I was wondering if yall knew if the smaller one is an inner and the bigger one is an outter, and if possible could i get a part number again  :D

The bearing under the dust cap is the one on the outside of your MJ. This should tell you which bearing is the outer.

Now you can go on the O'Reillys site, and get the part numbers for the inner and outer bearings. One each required for each rotor. Get the National-brand bearings. Look it up yourself, then repost the part numbers you think are correct and we'll check it for you.

Front Outer:  National Wheel Bearing # A2
Front Inner:   National Wheel Bearing # A6

Both come with the bearing race (cone, cup). These should go in the rotor with the new bearings as they are matched.

so i checked out the wheel bearings today at advance, i think it was the front outter one, threw me off at first cause of the race, when i repacked mine thursday i didn't pull a race out, just a tapered cone bearing, but the cone bearing inside the A-2 bearing kit does look right  now to cough up 160 for a front end brake job, rotors, pads, bearings and seals lol,
