HughMann
I am going ahead and making a build thread even though this will be a long term build because I am bored at work. will add pics at later date. Future Plans: Ford 9" rear Still deciding on front. 44 or 60 or even a front ford 9" 35" Tires Maybe Future plans: 401 AMC + tranny Trying to decide on if I want to go full width or not. Since a 70-79 ford truck/big bronco 9" is very close perch width wise with the MJ so the rear would be easy.
HughMann
Going to attempt to do a transmission fluid and filter change on the MJ this weekend to see if that fixes my issues before I try and do the rear main seal. Since if the tranny has to come out anyway It would be better to do the rear main then, same for transfer case fluid change since it seems like I can get a complete AW4 + NP231 combo for less than $500 so if the fluid change doesnt fix it Ill have to get a tranny. HughMann
going to also try my hand at making some tail lights since used ones are so expensive. like these: These lights are stop+turn+reverse and are about $35 a piece.

HughMann
Went to the junk yard and got a d44 out of an Isuzu rodeo which is close to the right size to put under the MJ. The only issue is I believe it has 4.78 gearing.
HughMann
Selling/trading the D44 I picked up because it doesn't fit in to what I want to do with the mj. My plans are now as follows. I am going to start collecting parts over the summer for a lift. I am also going to collect parts for a rear main seal repair and maybe a transmission. I am going to take a class at the local community college which is just basically you renting their auto shop for 5 hours a day 3 days a week because I don't have anywhere to work atm and taking this class a year and a half ago spoiled me on being able to use a lift to work on vehicles, so I am going to do just that. Iirc it is going to be like $250 for the class including shop fee and that isn't bad for basically renting a shop for 1-2 semesters.
