During our recent snow event/adventure I noticed the tach needle rhythmically bouncing between 0 and around 500 rpm while driving at low speeds (20 mph or less, 1st and 2nd gears). Switched back into 2WD and it operates normally. Did not notice if it was bouncing at higher speeds in 4WD because I was watching the road.

Any ideas?

91 MJ, AX15, not sure which transfer case (does anyone have a guide for identifying the different transfer cases?).
