1991 Mj 5Spd Crank With No Start Should Be *interesting*!!!

Recommended Posts

OK here goes my first post. Thank you in advance and sorry for the negative start  .

well i am trying to fix a no start  1991 MJ 5spd sport. i am a seasoned tech(i do this for a living mainly euro/vw stuff) but as we tech's don't like to admit defeat ill reach out to people with more chrysler experience than i have. i have never had good luck with their wiring. so here is the skiny. any help is highly appreciated.

i have no crank signal, no cam signal, obviously no spark, no injectors/no grounding signal/no power from the asd relay to them or the coil. i have supply voltage ie 5 volt but they seem to drop off while cranking or i might have a lead on my OSC going out.

no asd activation basically so no power out on the green and orange wire i have power on the supply for asd thou, i have key on power to the ecu and have cleaned most of the grounds. the ecu ground is ok black and tan wire. i get 12v on the coil wire with a meter but it won't hold a load with a test light.

the prior owner has replaced everything ecu, coil, crank sensor and distributor.this thing was kinda handed off as junk. i have check many of the wires for breakage just to find them ok. :fs1:    :laughin:

kinda fed up with it. hope you guys can help thank again

Ignition switch.

http://comancheclub.com/topic/23310-ignition-switch-help/

If I read you correctly........

You state that you have no power or power fades when you turn ignition.....yes? no?

Well.....if all checks out as you state............what is left?

Edit:

I don't have a 92 to look at.....so.......I'm guessing........

Power supply in from bat/alt should have a fused link to a breaker..........link or breaker is giving a weak supply giving you the illusion you have power but under load if fades. Just a guess.

The PO threw some parts at it though didn't he?

When you give up on it, just drop it off at my house. :P
