snakedoc67
Will be taking the Manche in on monday to a new shop in town for a clutch replacement. They are labor only and bring your own parts so I want to make sure i have everything i need in the way of fluids, etc. Just purchased a clutch kit from ORilleys but now i have a couple of questions. They mentioned they had a ceramic lined clutch kit for twice the price, I wondered how much better that would be. Also since the instructions say its for a 93-98 Cherokee/Comanche/Wrangler has anyone had problems with this kit (the cheaper one priced at $164, lol). Also if anyone could tell me what other supplies I would need.
Eagle
I've never heard of a ceramic-lined clutch and I can't imagine it would be worth twice the price. The factory clutch on my '88 Cherokee (bought new) lasted 204,000 miles, and was replaced only because the slave cylinder went. The clutch itself looked like new. How much better could you ask than a 200,000 mile clutch? Be sure to get the hose assembly from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder. That was the only part I didnj't replace -- guess what failed when I was 100 miles from home?
