littlezeeker
So last night my 86 4 cyl 5 spend manual 4x4 was sitting idle at about 550-750 and just died, then later (2-4 hours) I was in fifth gear. It was like it had died (no power) but it was still running but like idling though I was giving it gas, then it jumped ( like I slammed it into gear ) then it was fine. Then it did it again this morning. I'm confused and not sure where to start looking everything looks fine under the hood thanks guys I checked the form some but didn't find much if someone finds one point in the right direction thank you
Butchershop
Read through this thread. Should help. http://comancheclub.com/index.php?/topic/39616-Anyone-Ever-Rebuild-The-Throttle-Body%3F
AeroNautical
Sounds like the TPS isn't giving the engine the proper amount of gas. Sometimes they get stuck in one position, other times they won't send the right voltage. I'd say grab one from rockauto and readjust it. One for an auto tranny is a hell of alot cheaper than one for a manual, and it works the same. Great info in the post Butchershop linked, this might also help a bit: http://comancheclub.com/topic/38612-very-high-idle/
