Looking For Advice -Wisdom On 2.8 /4.0 Swap

These are valid points.  As far as weight, I'm not sure on either.

Don't worry about the weight. Just add a couple more PSI to the front tires.

For a young fella with ants in his pants looking for power and torque to give him max acceleration, weight is a factor. Shaving off weight is often a better way to gain acceleration than simply adding power. (An even better way would be to go  out and buy a sports car  instead - but to each his own...)

Don't look at me - I am the guy looking for a sensible diesel swap - I certainly ain't in no hurry! :D

From what I've found online, the non HO version of the 4.7 weighs in at 438lbs. and the 5.9 is somewhere around 500lbs, supposedly below.

Anyone have any experience with a dodge 4x4 5spd going into an xj/mj?

Never been a fan of cars...always  had trucks  . :MJ 1: .

 

Still..diesel is always a kool factor...I still have my external slave ax15 just sitting around, if i can find a om617 that someone doesnt want my right arm and first born son for, it may get mated up and dropped into an mj too!
