My Jeeputer

With the talk of MP3 players in the other thread, I thought I'd post the build of a Jeeputer in my XJ.

That's super trick, but what is missing from the dash now?

Nothing, thats just where the old radio was. The 97+ XJ's use a 1.5 din radio, so the hole was pretty big to start with. I made it a little bigger to fit the touch screen, but thats all.

nice work!! looks very good. I just recently helped a coworker do the same in his ponitac G6. it was a little easier for him though with the G6 having a double din opening from the factory. and he choose to have the computer in a regular case mounted in the trunk.

Also movies and GPS.

 

The movies are nice if you grab a bit at a drive through or something, you can watch a movie while you eat. The GPS is also handy, I use some software called MapMonkey that gives turn by turn directions and stuff.

 

I thought I would use it for other stuff, like email or video games or something - but I never do.
