jmderyke
1986 4x4 2.5 dana 35 spring under I was given a rubicon express 4.5" xj lift with springs, upper and lower control arms and extended brake lines, I was told the springs settled to 4". To finsih my truck I wanted to put an add a leaf on the rear of about 3" since it sits about a inch higher in the rear it should balance out? The only company I can find for 3" for the mj is rustys offroad any others?
nitroxsteve
My rustys 3"AAL only gave me about 1.5" of lift. But with the 3" front springs its still an inch higher in the rear so it sits nice. Each truck is different but I doubt you will see a full 3" with the rustys AAL. I don't have any experience with any other brands.
500kalle
Try to add 2 wrangler CJ leafs each side!! It'll flex smooth and bring you a Lift bout 4-5 Inches!!! If you want more Lift, you should Take some IRONMAN shackles!! I did so and I'm very glad with The result!!!

500kalle
Now running 31x10,5-15 on 8x15 rims!!
92tanMJ
Like what said above the rustys 3"AAL is for an xj (even thought it says mj) so it only gives about 1.5" of lift. But if you put on a 2" shackle you should be good and right around the lift hight you want to be.
jmderyke
Thanks for the help! I may do a trial and error route of adding a couple leafs. I use my truck more for fire wood and camping hardly any wheeling.
92tanMJ
If you do, do the trial and error route let us know what leafs you used. Genernally you want leafs with more arch. For example, MJ leafs can lift an XJ but XJ leafs won't lift an MJ. I used S10 leafs in my XJ bastard pack. I'm not sure if s10 leafs will work for an MJ though
92tanMJ
You could always go spung over and then use a stock xj shackle? That might still be too tall for you though
