Any Car Audio Junkies??

Recommended Posts

I need ideas, MANY ideas to  make my MJ be heard from a distance and have it feel like a concert on the inside! i love me some SQ with some thump, not a fan of trying to get to 150DB but if it happens, i just hope all the vocals are crisp and clear to my ears as well!!

i've got a lot in my mind for what to do to the MJ but i feel like I'm gonna end up with this, because it seems somewhat simple and it should work nicely..

*add some components to the doors (possibly do dual speaker out of some fiberglass?) do they make kick panels for down by the feet?

*add tweeters to either the doors or the a pillar's(possibly using an 'A Pillar' single gauge thing and making the hole work with a small tweeter) or possibly do both

*put in a decent set of co-ax 5x7's or 6x9's in the B pillar spot... any ideas there? maybe add some 5.25 or 6.5 components in that spot instead? and set the tweeters on top of the box that will be built?

*putting in a custom box behind the bench seat with a 12" L7 in the middle

*built into the box will be a amp on each side, one for the components and one for the sub, there will also be an distribution block on there for the wiring as well as a capacitor just to keep all the volts level.. i plan on using 0/2 gauge wiring from the battery to the distribution block, from there 4 or 8 gauge to the amps, 14 gauge speaker wire will be ran for the sub and every other speaker in the MJ..

*i plan on running dual batteries and trying to find an high output alternator, so any advice on what batteries to use would be great!?and where to go about finding a 180/200 amp alternator would be great too! as of now, i'm planning on using either the duralast deep cell ones or some interstate deep cells for the batteries, and i have yet to find a good alternator besides the mean green ones...

*the head unit i am planning on running is an alpine cda9886, its like 6? years old, if i can find a decent/good flip out screen for a decent price, i will most definitely be picking that up instead... as well as swapping in a PS3 in the slot under the glovebox!

*i'm also debating on putting in some 7-12" monitors in the sun visors, as well as adding a back up camera that will pop up on the in dash tv as soon as i put the jeep in reverse(may need to think of how to do that as its a stick!)

right now the headliner is out, the fabric was shot! ...of course! so if there's any ideas of a lighting system to put in or any form of sound bar to install, that'd be really helpful too! (i have a sound bar from my '92 XJ and it wouldn't bolt up right without hitting my head!)

i'd love to see some photos of any custom car audio that y'all have done to these MJ's, i know i can look on car domain but i figured id go for the source before just being a creeper!!

Any insights of what to do, what not to do, what you wish you would've done, all that BS, i'd love to hear it, that way i can do it right instead of doing it twice!!! there's a lot of things i wish i would've done differently on my first MJ, and so far i have not done a single thing wrong to this one, except blow the motor!!

I replaced all of my speakers with some high end Alpines and put a 10" Polk DX Series sub behind the seat. It's incredibly loud on the inside and everything is nice and crisp. It doesn't "bump," but then again I didn't want people to hear me coming from a mile away...

We used to make our truck bump...but after 4 kids we gave it up for the house!!

Lmao so first you make the truck bump, and now y'all make the house bump  ...do your kids have to wear ear plugs at night? :rotf:
