Electrical Gremlins . . . ?

OK . . . so my rusty old '87 Laredo 4.0  4WD

interior lamps and windshield wipers quite at

about the same time.   Near as I can tell,  the fuses

are ok.   Well,  the windshield wipers almost quit.

When I rotate the column mounted switch,  they kind

of move just a little.   What might any of you out there

suspect.  What should I try?

to "88whitemanche":   It is an automatic.   I'm trying to think of the correlation but I guess

                                    I'll have to wait for your further response.  I'm sure you asked for an

                                    appropriate reason.

I say check the body and engine mounted grounds. Upgrade the grounds is definatly a good idea as well.

Reason why I asked is because if it was a manual transmission these trucks commonly leak at the clutch master cylinder and the brake fluid spills all over the fuse panel causing many electrical gremlins.....

 

I would try to refresh the grounds first like 1989 eliminator said....and go in from there...these trucks did have a very weak ground system
