iksurb Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 OK . . . so my rusty old '87 Laredo 4.0 4WD interior lamps and windshield wipers quite at about the same time. Near as I can tell, the fuses are ok. Well, the windshield wipers almost quit. When I rotate the column mounted switch, they kind of move just a little. What might any of you out there suspect. What should I try? Bruski / Michigan
iksurb Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 to "88whitemanche": It is an automatic. I'm trying to think of the correlation but I guess I'll have to wait for your further response. I'm sure you asked for an appropriate reason. Bruski / Michigan
1989 Eliminator Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I say check the body and engine mounted grounds. Upgrade the grounds is definatly a good idea as well.
88whitemanche Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Reason why I asked is because if it was a manual transmission these trucks commonly leak at the clutch master cylinder and the brake fluid spills all over the fuse panel causing many electrical gremlins..... I would try to refresh the grounds first like 1989 eliminator said....and go in from there...these trucks did have a very weak ground system http://comancheclub.com/topic/36382-cruisers-renix-tips/?do=findComment&comment=395486
