Darryl
I would like to convert a 1988 comanche 2wd into a 4wd with the engine and transfer case from my 1991 comanche. Unfortunately, my brother-in-law, had an accident with my 1991 with only 58,000 Kms on it... She's a goner and can't live with out my comanche! I haven't purchased the '88 yet. Is it better to ger a 1991? Just difficult to find one in the shape I am looking for.... Any ideas/ concerns would be appreciated.
Geonovast
A 91 can be used to convert an 88. You won't need to move the engine over, just trans and transfercase.
mvusse
Will an 88 TCU (Renix) work with a 91 transmission(OBD)?
Geonovast
I'm not 100%, but I believe it will. If not, the 91 trans should work fine with a Renix TCU. He didn't state if the 88 was an auto or a manual.
Darryl
I would like to move the engine as well, my current comanche only has 35,000 miles on it, my thoughts are to do this transfer once and not lend it to the brother in law again! Lol!
Darryl
I'm worried about renix not working with the chrysler system, I don't want it to be half a$$, if you know what I mean....
