Guest Taddeo Posted March 15, 2013 Share Posted March 15, 2013 Newbie here - just picked up a 91 Comanche in very nice shape. 2wd, auto, a/c, 106k miles. Needs brakes and paint but otherwise very decent. One issue is the glove box - won't open. I can lock/unlock it with the original key, but squeezing the latch doesn't activate the release. Any suggestions on how to get it open so I can pull the latch/lock mech? Tried to jimmy it but since I don't know what it looks like inside I can't find the catch. Pics would be helpful. mnkyboy Posted March 15, 2013 Share Posted March 15, 2013 IIRC, on mine I popped off the cover around the lock then broke the lock apart so I could manually release it. There is a clip that holds it in on the inside,once you get it open you can pop the clip and the latch assembly comes right out so you can replace it.
