ComancheKid45 Posted February 15, 2013 Share Posted February 15, 2013 Hey fellas, Do any of you guys have any experience with the Rugged Ridge HD steering setup? I got a decent price on 1 earlier this week but after reading numerous reviews on Jeep Forum I'm wondering if it isnt such a good idea... It will be going on my blue truck which is on about 3.5" of lift and 31" tires. Just looking for any other opinions and seeing it I would be better off just re selling the kit and investing in another setup after cutting my losses... comanchedude Posted February 15, 2013 Share Posted February 15, 2013 If your running it on a 3 in lift it should work great. on Jeeps with taller lifts you get TRE roll. that's the big complaint of this and any similar style linkage. I run the system on my truck and have for several years, My MJ is over 6" lift so I had to change things up. I run a high steer knuckle, you can see in the pic below the the upper tie rod connects directly to the knuckle not the lower TRE.. I like the system and when I bought it I paid 150. so at that price it was a deal. I have replaced all the TREs 1 time in 5 years. so I like the system.
