Transfer Case Help

My girlfriend has a 85 wagoneer with the TF904 and 229 t-case. Does anybody know if the 231 will bolt up? If it does how do I work out the speedo?

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMC_and_Jeep_transmissions the 231 can replace the 229, they all are supposed to use the same 6 bolt pattern. I think that YJ t-cases used a speedo cable so you should be able to use it but may have to change the gear to match your final drive.
