64 Cheyenne
Put it in and out about a million times already... Went from zero depth to .043 no joy, this is .031 Suggestions? And yes I do have the proper tools for this job, so lets not go there... Thanks
1987Comanche
Drive heel, coast toe pattern. Is the carrier centered in the housing? What's the pinion runout on the yoke mating surface? Those are the 2 areas I'd check.
comanchedude
are you using setup berrings? is so try more pinion gear ,(more gear to the ring), if you get more contact pattern ,you would be good , if not you may need to shim the ring closer to the pinion and reset depth. yes it can take serveral, many tries. if you can see that your already at the fat side of your pinion gear then you need to bring the ring closer and reset pinion. 64 Cheyenne
Sorry, should have said 8.8, so no set up bearings on the carrier. 1) Set pinion preload usually between 14 and 19 in/lb 2) check BL usually between .006 and .009 thou 2) then check pattern Using set up bearings for the pinion.
