lexluthier72 Posted June 26, 2012 Share Posted June 26, 2012 Hey All, My Idiot light came on today (and off) Id say less than a few minutes at a time. No sign of over-heating. I did just replace my water pump, upper and lower radiator hoses, heater core hose to the heater valve, and the heater valve. Would the light come on if there were an air pocket? I have an open system! (radiator cap!) What gives? Any thoughts would be great. -Erin p.s.- Will the idiot light come on if the overflow tank is low on coolant? airspeed Posted June 26, 2012 Share Posted June 26, 2012 More than likely just air trying to work it's way out of the system, I have had the same problem with mine. There is no level sensor on my 88 expansion tank. You need to keep the tank full so it can draw water into the engine on cool down cycle.
