CWLONGSHOT
I picked up a new set tonight, but didnt check them until just a few minutes ago.... They do not look like the '90 factory units I happen to have. My '89's SHOUD be identicle to the '90's right?? Here is two shots of the '90's. Image Not Found Image Not Found Here is two of the new units. Image Not Found Image Not Found The studs are different. The center flange is taller and the rear portion of the bearing is longer. These are the cheaper bearings @ 80 bucks each. Any one know if these are correct?? I'll call the parts store in the AM and have them dbl check the numbers. jared
if it doesn't look the same to you, it probably isn't right.
Eagle
The critical dimension is from the face of the mounting flange to the wheel mounting surface on the hub. The newer ones ARE different, and if you use the wrong ones the brake rotors won't turn in the calipers. Offhand, I'd say they gave you the hubs for the wrong year. CWLONGSHOT
Thats what I am thinking. But isnt the break at 1990. Meaning most of the 1990 units are a different style than the 1989 and down units? I'll call and heve them double check the PN's this am. Thanks, CW
STROKERMJ
"year" breaks in my experience don't mean sh!%, when it comes to the everyday parts store, even my parts guy has gotten me wrong bearings before, some manufacturers think they're all the same and produce them that way. I would return them and go thru the shelf and find the correct ones or just do a conversion and get rid of those things.... STROKERMJ
Eagle
I'm sure I've posted this before. Note: it is copyrighted, and I am NOT granting permission for anyone to copy it, print it, or pass it along in any form. In general, the parts to be concerned with in keeping the front brakes compatible are the steering knuckles, the hub/bearing assemblies, the rotors, and the calipers. (There is a more complete enumeration of the interrelationship of these parts in Chapter 6, Axles.) * Only two steering knuckle designs were used: 1984 through 1989, and 1990 through 2001. Left and right side knuckles are different part numbers within each group. * Three different hub/bearing units were used. The hub/bearing units are the same for both sides of the vehicle. The different years for hub/bearing assemblies were: 1984 through 1989; 1990 through mid-1999 (composite rotors); and late-1999 through 2001 (cast rotors). * Three rotor types were used: 1984 through 1989; 1990 through mid-1999 (composite); and late-1999 through 2001 (cast). * Only two caliper types were used: 1984 through 1989, and 1990 through 2001. Left and right side calipers are different part numbers within each group.
comanchedude
The pics you have for the new units are correct for an 1989 : (BCA Part # 513107 ) I don't know what you have ,as i read i take it you have a 1989? if you have a 1990 then you need : (BCA Part # 513084) you can use these numbers to cross reference your part stores brand
