mvusse Posted May 28, 2011 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Swapping the nicer Pioneer/Chief door panels with the hockeystick handles and map pockets to the Purple People Eater and the base model ones from it to the trail pig (both black interior) I noticed they both had a production date of November 1986. So I checked the last 6 digits of the VIN (serial number) The Pig: 077783 The Purple People Eater: 077772 My trucks came out of the factory only 11 apart! Come to think though, they were probably built on the same shift so if there's something peculiar about one, like an odd replacement bolt or if a lazy worker took a sort of shortcut I'd wonder if it's on the other too.
