Shocks too long? Recommendation request front lift w/rearSOA

Recommended Posts

will a shock that is 32" extended and 18.5" collapsed be too long for a 4.5-5.5" front lift? If so, anyone got some part # recomendations?

I am trying to match a rear SOA using 2wd springs and relocated stock perches to keep it as low as possible. Also, am I correct in asuming that stock-ish rear length shocks are correct as you are moving the perches up when you do the SOA?

Thanks!

If your doing a soa in the rear what length collapsed and extended are we looking at? Thanks in advance

It depends on how you have your shock mounts setup on the axle side. A lot of guys "think" they have to move them up for ground clearance. Personally we feel that what you loose in ground clearance (very minimal) you'll gain in shock length travel. I'll gladly give up 2" of ground clearance for an extra 5-6" in travel.

With that being said; running the shock mounts in the factory position (under axle) you'll want a shock in the range of 17"C/29"E.
