FXWorks
Could someone with an MJ owner's manual look something up for me? I need to know the GCVWR (Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating) for an MJ. It should be in the section on towing (there's a data table there - at least in the XJ manual). 1988 would be ideal but I'm not going to be fussy as I doubt it changed between 1987 and 1992. Also, what is the best source to purchase a hard copy of this manual? I want to have one for my glove box in case I get pulled over by an overzealous police officer or highway regs officer. Thanks! johnj92131
For your own owners manual watch Ebay. I have purchased several for different automobiles from Ebay . Cost can be less than $10.00 if you take your time. Got a full owners manual packet in a factory zipper binder for less than that for my 96 Passat. johnj92131
He asked for information from a 1988 owners manual. The information I sent was taken from a 1988 owners manual. Interesting that the 88 lists GCVW max at 9820 and the 89 is listed at 9645. Did anything change from 87/88 to 89-92? Could it be the way AMC rated the truck was different from the way Chrysler rated the truck?
jimoshel
Wondered that myself. Same components so must be the way they were rated.Or maybe they figured the average drivers were heavier so they deducted that from the useful load.
