Thanks Joe The charcoal canister's only purpose in life is to receive gas fumes via the fuel return line and reintroduce them back into the intake system for recycling. It doesn't supply or hold vacuum. It sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Most common place for the leak is where the vacuum hose passes through the right front bulkhead and connects to the vacuum canister behind the right front bumper.
