MJ 88 2WD

Recommended Posts

  • 4 weeks later...

I thought I would post some pics of my MJ that I bought back in Nov. I have been driving it everyday and have done a few very minor things (fuses, door panels, speakers, mirrors, tires, ... little s**t ). It had 330k on the odometer but it runs really good ( I hope I'm not jinxing it).

It's got the 5 speed 4.0. I'll get to the rest later but here are some pics.

hopefully this works.

It has been a while since I last posted but i thought i should update what has happened up to now. i replaced the driver side fender and a couple of the flares as well as paint them all. Krylon fusion for plastic for the flares and I got the fender at the Pull the part in Santa Paula. I've been making bi-monthly trips there and have lucked out. There is a Comanche there as of last week and about the only thing worth anything is the tail gate. price is right and will be picking it up next week. i got the bumper from it which I was convinced was going to be impossible to find. I replaced the radiator and the hoses (upper and lower Pepboys $149. for all). Replaced the the tranny mount that was pretty worn which I thought was the reason of the knock when taking off in first. still knocks. Not as much. Plugs, cables, cap, and rotor are new, as well, of course oil change Rotella with K&N filter. OP improved 35. Valve cover gasket was also replaced but in the process I broke 2 bolts ( over torqued ). That made a 40 min. job into a 4 hour job. I think I'm oil leak free.

I got the dome lights to work and the clock. i have an extra clock that works.

I have discovered that it does not have a thermostat. Why? Runs between 195 and 210 without it.

I think the Tranny needs serious attention. Motor is very strong. jamminz.gif

Everything I have done has been with the help of Comanche Club.

Thanks.
