kyleag89
I just picked up a 97 Polaris Scrambler 400 for $275 that needs a top end. Does anyone know a good place to have the cylinder bored/honed?
Dirteatr717
I have a few of my toys bored over and fully rebuilt by a company about 20 minutes from me called Diggins racing.... Very nice guys, quick and not cheap but not going to tear a hole in your wallet... Check em out http://www.digginracing.com/
87Warrior
I just had the local machine shop do it for me back in the day for my Yamaha Warrior and Blaster top ends. Take your piston in and let them have at it. If it is a 2 stroke, make sure they chamfer the ports leaving no burrs or edges.
kyleag89
I'm not going to buy a piston until I have it bored because I don't know what size it needs to be.
87Warrior
The exact bore size, if done properly, is matched to the piston ;)
kyleag89
I understand, but the cylinder is really scored and they may have to bore it larger than the next size up or I might need a new sleeve.
kyleag89
Sent it to a place in FL to be bored. http://www.summitoffroad.net/ $175 includes complete bore, new piston and gasket kit.
