Shane Posted September 26, 2010 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Looking to buy a 4cycl comanche for dd. Prefer auto. 2wd or 4wd is fine. Also looking for a diesel comanche kind of as a work truck. I love my 89 MJ that I got now, but driving it everyday with gas prices the way they are isn't fun and I invested to much into it to make it a work truck. Any help with either on of these is appreciated. Nothing too expensive though. It certianly doesn't have to be a diamond, but no terds either. Geonovast Posted September 26, 2010 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Just cause it's a 4 popper, doesn't mean it's going to for sure get better mileage. Especially with an auto behind it. My 88 XJ with a 4.0 and auto at one point was getting 26 mpg. Most I'd ever pulled out of my 4 popper/stick was 23, but it usually averaged 20-21. If you prefer an auto, I wouldn't turn away a 4.0 if it's running good. For a stick, you might get better luck out of the 4 popper.. but you might not.
