kyleag89
I was just wondering if the 2wd and 4wd pads are the same in the front? I bought a Jeep tonight that used to be 4wd and now its 2wd so I can't really look up the parts because I don't know where the front axle tube came from. O and before you guys scratch your head and wonder why someone would go from 2wd to 4wd... I bought a 94 XJ country from an auction in FL in MINT condition, but some dealer decided to replace the blown trans and engine with a NEW 4.0 and 2wd trans and axle! I plan on stripping my 92XJ to use the 4wd componants.
Eagle
Within a model year, they are the same. But there are differences between the early axles (and calipers) and the newer ones. If you don't know what year vehicle the axle came out of, you can't assume the pads are the same.
HOrnbrod
:agree: But why don't you just compare the L & R caliper's p/n stamped on the inboard side between the two vehicles? If they are the same, you're golden. And you can cross reference the correct pads by using the caliper numbers.
