Yet another gear ratio quetsion

Just how do I find out what ration my 88 has? It's a 4.0 with 5 speed, 4wd. :dunno:

99.9% chance if its stock and hasnt been modified you have 3.07's :ack:

Mosst likely 3.07. You can check yourself, usually there is a tag on the passenger side of the differential cover, and there should be a bunch of numbers, but there will be a few kinda set off from the rest, and have the first number followed by the second. it will look like >>>

Numbers I put in are just crap, but you get the idea.

 

Oh, and it helps when you try to read this if your truck never spent time in the rust belt.
