Weezel
Just got the MJ back from the spring shop, so it is now jacked up and aligned. this weekend i am hoping to tackle the trans/case. Just wondering if it is going to be a bolt-in/plug-in affair or will i run into copatability issues like i did with my front calipers. for those that don't know.... this is my junk. donor vehicle: 1994 XJ 4.0 AW4 4wd My MJ:1991 4.0 AW4 2wd so, will everything jive or will there be surprises? thanks everyone W :Canadaflag:
mjeff87
Everything but the rear driveshaft should be bolt-in. The XJ shaft will be too short, so you'll either have to have your 2WD MJ one cut down, or get a new 4WD one. The D30 on the XJ matches the rear end in the MJ gearwise, yes? If it doesn't and you're planning on swapping the XJ rear end in, you'll have to relocate the spring perches. Jeff
Weezel
SWEET! Anyone know where the gear selector cable exits the cab?> i am changing mine from a coloumn shift floor shift. there is a hole ahead and to the right of the shifter but it is big and the cable doesnt line up well. does it exit the same spot as the column shift? thanks W :Canadaflag:
