Cap & Rotor ?

I searched and could not find so...,I have an 87' 4.0L and wanted to replace the cap and rotor w/aftermarket parts.They were listed for 91'+.When I contacted the manufacture they said they would'nt work on an 87'.I was at the JY today and swapped an 90' and 93' cap&rotor ,no problem and they looked identicle.Anyone know what years interchange?

87 thru 90 were the renix systems 91 up HO must be some difference in them. I am sure someone on here will have more info.

Thanks,according to their website,the part #'s are good for 87'-92' Comanche's and atleast some cherokee's to 99'.
