87manche Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 So, I found another comanche in the junkyard. It's got the 4 banger and a 5 speed ax-5. Does anyone know if the ax-5 and ax-15 shifter are interchangable? I don't need the shift tower, just the retention rings. I didn't want to go through all the hassle of tearing it out to find that they're different.. I'll be so stoked if they're the same, I'll have a $15 shifter to replace my damaged one.
Bounty Hunter Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 From working on both I'm guessing the detent ring that holds the shifter into the tower is the same. Let us know what you find out. I've got a spare AX5 shifter if you end up needing some parts.
87manche Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 Yeah, I've not made it ot to the yard yet to examine it. As long as the retainer ring measures up then I'm set. Unfortunately I broke Mary Jane tonight, I think I burnt a fusible link from the starter relay to the fuel pump relays. I got no fuel pump noise at KO.
