Temp sensor

ok got new gage cluster, replaced the oil and temp sensor, the oil works fine but the temp don't, the first sensor i got was from oriellys, so then i went to auto zone and used the part NO. off the write up that pete gave me, the needle never goes under 210 and it usually reads 300 or so, is my gage broke?
