garmj Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Before 1995 every manufacturer had their own plugs,GM ,Ford Chrysler and all the foriegn manufactueres were different that was OBD1. After 1995 OBD2 standardized the diagnostic connectors and trouble codes.You will have to find the appropriate adapters and code lists. The good news is our trucks don't have many inputs going to the ECM so problems arent as hard to find as in later model vehicles.
