mvusse
I was just semi randomly browsing the web and came across the specs for Robbie Gordon's Corvette powered Dakar Hummer. 37x14.50R15 tires on 15x6.5 wheels with integral bead locks. So the tires are 8" wider than the wheels (more than twice as wide) AND the wheels have bead locks. Guess he wants to be sure he won't pop a bead... I wonder what pressure he runs running over rocky terrain or desert sand at 100mph.

Concept2w
I saw a recapitulation of the race earlier this week. He did well, if I remember he finished 3rd. Impressive with such a massive machine.
mvusse
It's an H3 (well, made to look like an H3), which is based on the Canyon/Colorado compact truck platform. If you call that massive, what would you call an 8 foot wide Hummer Alpha? Or the Suburban based H2?

It's massive compared to the other runner in the same class. but this is cooler
brdhntr
nah, give me a lamborghini lm2002 for a massive, overly fast 4x4 that looks like nothing else. ugly, yes. slow, not. and they were supposed to be a real off road vehicle, yah right. just give me a jeep and i'm happy. who cares if i can't do 100mph off road, i just want to be able to get through anything. a jeep will do that. :chillin:
