ocskipper Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 My clutch goes soft and I am out of fluid. I checked the bell housing and there is no sign of a leak. I have an internal slave (it is an 87' 2.5L MJ) so I guess I can't be sure of a a leak there unless I take it apart. Any other ideas where the fluid would be going? Eagle Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 The other two places you could lose fluid are the master cylinder, and the hose. You want to find out quickly, because when the master cylinder leaks, the fluid usually follows the rod through the firewall and drips onto the fuse panel inside. I changed a fuse last night and there were no signs of fluid. Also, the fluid seems very dirty and black inside the fill. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BLHTAZ Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 Fluid leaking inside that will effect the fuse panel will not be plainly obvious when simply looking under the dash or changing as fuse. You will need to dig a little...remove the floor covering that wraps all the way up there and look good.
