BLHTAZ
Why would you do that instead of just getting control arms?
redneck23ms
i have adjustable arms already. but i'm at 6.5" of lift and the arms are at a pretty steep angle. drop brackets will flatten this angle and give a much smoother ride. they also allow more articulation since the arms aren't binding as much due to the angles. BLHTAZ
Gotcha... Unfortunately, this is not a subject that I have any experience with so I will back out and wait for someone that can help you ;)
johnnyc
I have drop brackets and braces on my XJ. On an MJ, the LCA mount is stronger than on an XJ, so you don't need the braces. You would have to hack the mounts up pretty good to get the braces to work. My buddy has an 87 longbed MJ with drop brackets and no braces and he's had no problems. And he wheels it hard. The MJ has reinforced LCA mounts and the support braces are typically not needed. We wheel with a few locals who are running the RE brackets on the MJ's and nobody has ever had an issue with them not having the braces. If you wanting to modify the RE braces to fit the MJ's, your honestly better off starting from scratch and building a set to work.
