A-man930
I think you will be okay using your original dash harness. Worst case scenerio would be that you would have to match and splice the new harness wires on the the old male bulkhead connector pigtail. You'll need both model bulkhead connector pinout diagrams to do this. Doing it this way you could retain your cluster w. the mech speedo. The fuel gauge (different polarity) and tach are also different in the HO clusters. ok I've got the pinout diagram for the '91 harness, but the pdf file I have for the '90 doesn't have a corresponding picture for me to go by... Also, I could use some pictures of how the MAF sensor hooks up, and the whole right side of the engine bay for that matter. For instance: Can't find which one goes here... if I had a HO engine bay to look at it would make things easier, but I don't so pictures will have to suffice. Much thanks again
A-man930
Ok I'm gonna need some info asap guys, the only things holding me up from tearing into this thing tonight is knowing what I'm gonna have to do with this bulkhead connector issue. I'm confident I'll be able to figure out the rest of the loose ends, but I at least need to know what the configuration is on the '90-style bulkhead. I'm super-anxious to get this underway, and I don't have any issue jumping right in, but I'm going to be bumming rides and inconvieniencing my family while the truck's down... so it's not entirely up to me. A-man930
Ok I've got my pinout, and it looks like the connector itself is the same as the '91. So hopefully I'll be able to switch just a couple of wires around and get it to work. (I'll probably be asking further questions in that area... stay tuned). Still looking for as many pictures of H.O. engine bays as I can get ahold of. Boilermaker was able to grab a few, but the more the merrier!

A-man930
Ok what about using the H.O. harness as a standalone...
A-man930
I was thinking I could maybe retain all the accessories (lights, etc.) of the old harness and use the H.O. to run the engine. I know hot-roders do this all the time retrofitting late model EFI powertrains into old platforms. I can't think of any problems except the fuel pump stuff, the AC clutch, and making sure that power's getting to both... anyone see any other problems???
