urbanMJ Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Mine have developed two quarter sized holes. I'd much rather replace them than the patch bondo jobs How Do i replace them? And is replacement ok for structural integrity? Are they spot welded? Do I just drill out these spots and go on sherman parts and order new rocker panels to weld in? Thanks in advance!
87manche Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 they're piece of the unibody. You have to cut them completely then wld new pieces in. If you're considering wheeling your truck then might as well replace them with rock sliders. www.madxj.com there's 3 writeups there.
CWLONGSHOT Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 OR do what I did!! Replace the rockers with diamond plate covers THEN rock rail protection!!! Its EASY!!! Just but Dodge 2002 and up tail gate protecters and cut to fit. The profile of them is about perfect for rockers on MJ/XJ Jeeps. Then buy/build the rock protection you like.
