trapperbb Posted August 25, 2008 Share Posted August 25, 2008 hi i am thinking about putting a rear bumper of a Cherokee on my comanche cuz the old brackets rotted off and the old bumper is no good. will the bumper off a cherokee work? or r thr brackets different? JeepcoMJ Posted August 25, 2008 Share Posted August 25, 2008 i figured they would be, can u put the front bumper on though? like off a 99? xj front bumpers work on comanches. you would need to modify the fenders up front to accept the bumpercaps from the 99 front bumper. the rear bumpers do not interchange, and would require a bit of fab skills to make an xj bumper of any sort work on the rear. You can put anything on, if you're willing to make up your own brackets and adapters. There's no way the factory front brackets from any year XJ will fit the rear of an MJ.
