  1. went through the same thing with my 89 comanche 4.0 Ended up bein my fuel pump. check the pressure on the fuel rail. also i had to replace my injectors, seems like the commonly go out about 150k. mine had about 160k on it. it would start and run but no power and would stumble unless revved over 3 grand. it just gradually got worse.
  2. Personally i unhooked every one of those vacuum lines on top of the engine, the only one left is the skinny one that runs from the back of my valve cover to the air box. i know this may not be right but ive put about 15K on it since ive bought it with no problems at all. plus all the blow by just blows out the top of my engine and stays out of my air filter.
  3. Found this 4.5 lift kit on rustys off road.com seems like it would work good. just wondering what yall thought about it. would like to run at least 32's with it http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchant.m ... sus_xj_kit
  4. Well i replaced the IAC and it fixed it. back down to about 800 rpm when i start it. But i have noticed that after i drive it around it starts to idle higher. after i drove it about ten miles i put it in park and it was idleing at 1500 rpms. but after i killed it and started it up it was idleing right again. thanks brandon
  5. How do you measure the MAP sensor and did you just replace the iac and things went back to normal. brandon
  6. Howdy all i need some help with my comanche. hydro locked it about a month ago, now it has a really high idle, about 3 grand. idled fine before this run in with some deep water. replaced the tps, didnt help any. i can put my hand over the air intake and kill it and i can't hear any air being sucked in the intake gasket. so i don't think its the intake gasket, and the bolts are tight. it didnt idle high at all before i sucked water into the engine. the water did not get into the cab of the truck. i have no clue what this could be and I'm about to just have to take it to the dealership and let them rob me. so if anyone has any suggestions of what this could be please let me know. thanks brandon 89 comanche 4.0
  7. When i burped mine i backed up on some ramps so the back end was high and started it. and loosened the temp sensor. ( on the back of the engine by the valve cover). then just let it run . i could actually see the air bubble out of it. worked fine. didnt take very long and never had to do it again. Brandon McNulty
  8. Yeah its an auto sorry i didnt put it the first time. yeah the idle is extremely high. even when its warm. i pretty much have to ride the brakes so i don't speed in town. its not a good thing cuase its my daily driver. good thing all i do is go to work and back. thanks Brandon Mcnulty
  9. Howdy all, I'm a member of the comanche forum on yahoo and thought that i would start posting my questions over here. The other day i ran my comanche through some water that was deep enough to get sucked into the engine. Now when i start it it idles at 2500 to 3000 thousand rpms. I have replaced my tps. needed a new one anyways. this did nothing to my idle i have it set right at 82%. I'm wondering if there is something else that could of gotten wet that would mess up the idle. I never had this bad of an idle problem before this. its been almost three weeks since it happened and i have drivin the truck about 20 miles since to see if it would clear up. other than the high idle it runs fine. thanks in advance Brandon McNulty 89 Comanche 4.0 4x4
